Stu Gordon has had a love of music his entire life and started playing in bands during high school. He has been actively involved in the Edinburgh music scene since 2000, playing in bands such as The Tyrant Lizard Kings, Jackal Headed Guard Of The Dead and Gareeda. With these bands Stu has toured the country on many occasions and released 6 albums and 3 EPs.
He started working as a sound engineer in 2001 when he became the house engineer for Bannermans Bar, Edinburgh. Since then he has done sound for thousands of acts in dozens of venues, including The Liquid Rooms, Studio 24, La Belle Angele, Summerhall, The Cathouse, The Lemon Tree, Westport Bar and the 02 Academy among others. He spent life in a van as a tour engineer for Man Of The Hour and Panic Cell, has worked at festivals large and small, and has been involved in several other events such as The Enchanted Forest and Edinburgh’s 2018 Lumen installation.
Having worked with a wide range of rock, punk and metal acts, handling on-stage sound, live recording, and working in the studio recording, mixing, and mastering everything from whole albums to practice room jams, Stu has worked a range of artists including The Exploited, GBH, Dan Baird, The Treatment, Oliver Dawson, Saxon, Diamond Head, Bombskare and many more…
Outside the world of rock and metal he has worked with a huge variety of musical styles including folk, pop & orchestral, mixing acts such as Phil Cunningham & Aly Bain, Heron Valley, Ho-Ro, East 17, Nadine Coyle (Girls Aloud) and 5ive.
Stu has now established Wall Of Sound studio in Leith, Edinburgh as a way to focus on his passion for music and working with musicians, providing a space where rock and metal bands can benefit from his near 20 years of experience.
